In America every citizen has the right to be armed. Every citizen is responsible for the defense of their life, of their liberty, of their property.
Those on the left, big government types, would use government power to impose on us their utopia, their idea of how society should be. In some Middle Eastern socialist tyrannies, only government forces legally own guns. When they need the citizenry to rally for more government power they arm criminals. I believe this is the rationale for Eric Holder's actions in the gunrunner scandal.
I don't believe in political classes. I don't believe that the government should be handing out privileges. Police officers should be heroes in our community, they are there to stop rape, murder, robbery, theft, & fraud. - But if one of us witnesses such an act, and there is not a police officer available, - is it not our duty as free citizens to do our best to stop the violation of civil liberties in the best way we can?
Lawmakers and government officials are 8 times more likely to commit a crime than a citizen CCW holder. In a free society the police officer has no duty that is not the duty of all law abiding citizens.
In a free society government should not be allowed to use any weapons or tools on its citizens that a law abiding citizen cannot also own.
